Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. Mark 11:23
Do you have mountains in your life that need to be cast into the sea? As this hymn says, all power in earth and above is given to Him who went to the cross for His own. He has the power to change things that seem unchangeable – and we must only believe.
For nothing will be impossible with God. Luke 1:37
This was the angel of the Lord’s response when Mary asked how it would be that she would bear a child. It was true in her circumstance and it remains true in our lives. This same promise is repeated several times in Scripture. Nothing is impossible with God. It has become a mantra in my own life when it seems like my situation is insurmountable.
With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
God has selected the paths that each one of us treads. He goes before us, and enters all the rooms, even when we believe the doors are already shut. Best of all, He never, never forsakes us. He is never gone.
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Deut. 31:6
God can do the impossible. Whatever our lot, we are not to fear. We must only believe. Today, I cry out with the apostles,
“Lord, increase my faith!” Luke 17:5
Only Believe
Words by Paul Rader
Fear not, little flock, from the cross to the throne,
From death into life He went for His own;
All power in earth, all power above,
Is given to Him for the flock of His love.
Refrain
Only believe, only believe;
All things are possible, only believe,
Only believe, only believe;
All things are possible, only believe.
Fear not, little flock, He goeth ahead,
Your Shepherd selecteth the path you must tread;
The waters of Marah He’ll sweeten for thee,
He drank all the bitter in Gethsemane.
Fear not, little flock, whatever your lot,
He enters all rooms, “the doors being shut,”
He never forsakes; He never is gone,
So count on His presence in darkness and dawn.
