I'll Count My Blessings, verse 3

God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne. Psalm 47:8

I go to meet another year,
With faith no doubt can dim,
God reigneth, and I will not fear,
But trust my way with Him.
Then if that way be bright or dark,
Let peace unshaken be!
And let me, like the soaring lark,
Sing "God is good to me!"

When you walk through the valley, you can choose to see God's goodness and put your trust in Him. He can use that time to increase your faith and draw You close to Him.

Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it. Psalm 37:5

When you've been able to count your blessings, even during the darkest times of your life, you can meet a new year with faith that no doubt can dim. Your trust in His sovereign plan will be a way that you live and shine His light to those around you. Whether the way is dark or light, you can have peace knowing that God reigns, and you can live without fear.

The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3

Isn't that great encouragement from His word? When we trust in Him, He keeps us in perfect peace! His word also promises us that He will give us strength and bless us with peace!

The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11

When you count your blessings, do you count the blessing of peace? I am sure you know many people who aren't living in peace - having the Lord's peace is truly a gift - a gift that is bestowed on us when we believe and trust in our Sovereign King.

When you trust in Him, you can sing like the soaring lark, "God is good to me!"

But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works. Psalm 73:28

Take some time today to count your blessings.

I'll Count My Blessings
Words by Carrie Breck

I lift my heart today in praise
To Him who loves me so,
Whose mercy crowneth all my days,
And makes my cup overflow.
O have I loved Him as I should
For all His blessings free?
Praise God who giveth naught but good,
For He is good to me!

Refrain
I’ll count my blessings
Count them o’er and o’er
I’ll tell my Father’s goodness
I will love Him more,
I’ll count my blessings, bountiful and free
Yet I can never count them all
So good is God to me!

I thank Him for unclouded skies
For love beyond my ken
That when my path in shadow lies,
The sunshine comes again.
I thank Him for the hopes fulfilled
For every answered plea,
That though life was not all I willed,
My God is good to me!

I go to meet another year,
With faith no doubt can dim,
God reigneth, and I will not fear,
But trust my way with Him.
Then if that way be bright or dark,
Let peace unshaken be!
And let me, like the soaring lark,
Sing "God is good to me!"
